  • With good health, all is possible. I like to feel that I am truly helping people achieve good health so they can pursue their dreams. I used to think that being a "greeter" at VIM Clinic was the bottom of the totem pole in terms of responsibility and skill sets, but I now think that as we are the gateway through which all patients pass; we are the ones who set the tone for our patients' experience at VIM Clinic. When someone is feeling beaten up by the system, he/she needs to be greeted and given respect by a friendly, nonjudgmental person. Volunteering is one way to be part of our whole community.

  • After living on Hilton Head for a while, I was struck by the contrasting communities of "haves" and "have nots." Most outsiders are unaware that we have a significant working population that needs the support of a medical community. I and my family, have always been fortunate to have had good medical care. My parents both lived to almost 90 years of age and they benefited a lot from excellent and available medical care. Perhaps my small efforts will contribute to VIM Clinic's mission.
